Hello peoples, lots of good anime around at the moment, even though some of those have recently finished.but anyway, I started to download the subbed version of Ninja Scroll(the series) and was totally hooked, never before had i seen any anime with such blood and guts and weird little creatures oozing out from some big breasted naked really ugly looking woman with a child morphing from her body. But on to the point, I recently got hold of the english version of the same show, and thought it was totally rubbish!!!! The language has been toned down quite a bit, everyone seems a little too happy when faced with almost certain grotesque destruction, I know the subbed versions may not be entirely accurate, but the translated text was far superior and fit the mood of the show a lot better. Has anyone else compared the two yet??? I like the Jubei in the old movie way better than the one in the new TV series. In the series, he is somehow unbelievably more powerful than the old Jubei.

The guy hardly moves and all he does is swing his sword here and there and the enemy's dead, w/o ever touching the enemy of course. One more thing, I liked the old design of Jubei as he looks a lot tougher. The new guy looks like a freakin fruit.

Animation is no doubt top notch (not to mention very clean) but I wished they give it a different name. I've already been let down by POS Ninja Resurrection and is once again disappointed with the TV series. I hope they don't screw up on the next Ninja Scroll movie. With that said, I'm quite disappointed at the re-release of the Ninja Scroll DVD. Though there's surround sound, the animation still looks dated. Least they could've done was to clean it up like the latest iteration of Akira.
